Yes. The guaranty association covers only Tennessee resident policyholders and certificate holders. Residency is determined on the date that a member insurer is declared insolvent. Guaranty association coverage is, however, currently provided to residents of all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia through other guaranty associations.
